Congratulations! If you are reading this then the chances are that you are planning your wedding and Studio 9 would like to offer our congratulations to the happy couple. When developing this section of our site we didn't want to just emulate another sales pitch for our services but instead we want it to be a valuable resource of practical advice and information to help you make YOUR day a resounding success. Studio9 Wedding Service includes the very latest ideas and concepts for you to enjoy. Did you know for example that we can produce special albums for the Bride and Grooms Parents to keep? Or that we produce, as standard, a DVD with a slideshow of your big day and the disc is embossed with a beautiful image of the happy couple. Further we only use the very finest albums from manufacturers such as Mario Acerboni and Spicer Hallfield. You choose your album from our extensive range. We have drawn up practical check lists for you to print off along with lists of all the things you will need to arrange and suggested time scales in which to work. We have even drawn upon spreadsheets to help you budget for your big day. From the photographers point of view most professional photographers will have a number of meetings with the happy couple prior to the big day. The first meeting will be an informal chat and will show some examples of previous work etc. It's at this point that most will give a guide to prices and services offered by that particular photographer. The second visit is more of a planning visit and will incorporate special instructions and will guide you through the itinerary of the day. Studio 9 tend at this meeting to take some informal studio type "Engagement Shots" as this will be a great keepsake for many years to come. After all, all weddings start with an engagement so why not have it recorded? The third and often final visit prior to the event will be a more formal information gathering exercise. We will find out about parents, step parent's, special requests and find out specific information, for example it is quite normal now for the bride and groom to go to a "Scenic Location" for additional album photographs. Maybe a local park or country house for example. We must add at this point that careful consideration should be given when choosing your wedding photographer. We see far too many examples where the happy couple have been devastated with their wedding pictures. Please remember that you will want to keep these images for the rest of your lives. Your children will want to keep them for the rest of their lives, and this will continue for generations to come. We see many examples at Studio 9 where price has played a HUGE part in the decision process and whilst I suppose we are bound to say this we can't emphasise enough that you only get what you pay for and your photographer is no exception. We never really understand this logic especially when you consider that the wedding breakfast will normally cost many thousands of £'s and lasts for approximately 30 minutes. After all in 5 years time you would struggle to tell somebody what was on the menu. Your wedding album on the other hand will last for many generations to come. You must decide the type of photography you want and base your instruction on this and not how cheap you can get the work elsewhere. So when you interview prospective photographers please bare this in mind. Also check with the pricing that there are no "Hidden Charges" as we know of individuals who quote a relatively small price and then charge for absolutely everything they do on the day making the final cost incredibly inflated. I know this sounds like hard work but the work we do as professional photographers is a record of what is, after all the happiest day of your lives. Most of the information here is common sense but when you have what seems like an endless list of "Things to do" it is often too easy to just agree to whatever is offered to you.
